Virtual Microscopy

One of the most valued elements of the course is the fully digitalized laboratory. You are requested to bring your own laptop computer, which should have Wi-Fi connection, Adobe Flash Player, and Microsoft PowerPoint, in order to have access to the course materials and digital slide sessions. If you are unable to bring your own laptop computer, please let us know as soon as possible.

Cases are displayed by virtual microscopy, microphotographs of additional stainings and electron microscopy. Every case is concluded by a series of slides that clearly point out the essentials of the diagnosis. In addition, you’ll find recent background literature on the disease entity at hand.

After completion of the course, each participant will be granted one year of unlimited free access to the digital course, accessible through the internet, in order to study all cases on one’s own initiative.

A representative example of a case from the course section 'Monoclonal Ig Deposition Diseases', including virtual microscopy is illustrated here.
